ZURE X YAGANJILL

Welcome to our first collaborator's blog featuring the talented @yaganjill

About Yagan:

Ever since I was small, I dreamt of creating, styling, playing. Today, I live my dream. I’m Yagan, an indigenous, Sydney-based content creator with a keen eye for all things style & design.
What first began eight years ago as a means to simply share my life with friends has since evolved into a following of more than 400,000. Pinch me.

Q1. How would you describe your design style, and where did you draw inspiration from for your renovation project?

When it comes to design style, nothing catches my eye more than a calm Japandi look. To those who are not familiar, this is a combination of Japanese x Scandinavian culture and theme influenced by the ancient Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi - a way of life which values slowly contentment and simplicity as well as the Scandinavian practice of hygge - which embraces comfort, cosiness and wellbeing.

Q2. What was the most challenging aspect of your renovation process, and how did you overcome it?

Doing it alone. This can be a challenge for a 5’5" girl lifting/moving heavy things that sometimes weigh more than myself! Other challenges I sometimes face are furniture delays and all sorts of flat packs with missing items. This can create a domino effect while renovating.

Q3. What inspired you to choose products from ZURE for your renovation project, and how was your experience collaborating with us?

I'd been searching for something classic, modern and timeless. Straying away from the 'next trend,' I found the Kylie Armchair to be the perfect complement for my at-home office. As soon as I unpacked my very own Kylie, I knew I had made the right choice. Comfortable, elegant and durable.

Q4.Can you share any advice for individuals who are unsure about the style they want for their space?

One piece of advice I will give is to find what makes you, you. Find what makes you love your home and hardly ever want to leave. To match ones personality, mimics ones life. A representation of oneself.

Q5.In your opinion, what is the most crucial factor to consider when designing a space, and how did you address this in your renovation project?

Something you must prioritise over everything else are measurements. This is the first step when it comes to Interior Design & Styling. Grab yourself a tape measure, take notes and make sure your space is big enough for what you need.

Yagan's insights offer a refreshing perspective on design and renovation, blending cultural influences with practical advice for creating spaces that truly reflect one's personality and lifestyle. Stay tuned for more inspiring content from our collaborator's series!
